Paris paper shaped mini album start up

Image
Such lovely paper.  I want s bit of a different way to present it.  Also will it evovl into Chanel mini album.  We'll see.  Craft as I must.  Great stress relief. "Sweet Paris" paper by "Dovecraft" sold tru "Trimcraft" of the UK http://www.trimcraft.co.uk Now its trimmed and shaped by using the "Scan n Cut" .  Oh my mind is racing to see how i'll shape it to beauty.

Embellishments coming together

Image
I wanted the cool Southwest sun to be flocked. I'd put it on then it would rub right off.   Borrowed some die cuts, did my own thing with em. Used my Scan to Cut 2 to turn em out.   What do you think?  Leave a comment! Contest coming up very soon.

Boat in the water

Boat all set in the water tied up to the old dock  post.  Ready to go lay the lobster trap. It's a pocket for the tags to fit in.

Corner Troublez

Time to start embellishing the gate fold front of New England Old West mini album.  I thought parer. Doilies would be a nice added feature , but I tried adding in opposite direction thdn it looked to me like spitball mess. So I peeled it off. I then decided that I would use cereal box as backer for the corner piece, as well as the connection portion. Ad you can seee I had already glued the corners on the backing, plus applied ink around the edges.  The New England side is printed canvas, Old West is made from crumpled wetted brown card stock then applied dark and light brown inks to it to give the wethered leather look to it. I then using rubber cement attached the corners on the front of the album. Oops forgot to take the photo with just the corners on.  Here's the front with the embellishments appliedd. Plus the ribbon closure applied .

Wow this took much adhesive, which I chose to use rubber cement. Best for the job Also time investment.  I will be adding to the corners since these are not perfect then i noticed in the photo to have we side embellishhments are not lined perfect.  To much to take em out. Will leave holes. So they stay.    This particular binding piece was more then I could chew.  I figured I'd use white glue to seal the edges. All it did was bump and wrinkle up. Then I tried with hope to put rubber cement.  Nope just a bigger mess. So whats a girl to do.  Hand wash out the white glue and press.  I used cut up heavy duty paper sacks to go between the iron and canvas, and between the canvas and ironing board.  I did it while the canvas was wet.  After 25 minutes.  It was worth the extra time cause it was great now. So back to rubber cement and put it on. No problems.   The other end leather looking paper was dampened and crumpled and iron...

Using card technology,. The " Double Slider Card" page.

Image
I was given a double slider card some time ago. Which I took apart to learn how it works. So I decided it would make an interesting page in a mini album. How do you like my creation? My golden ink proved damaging to my cardstock.  In fact the bottom punched part had to be mended.  I used the clear plastic packaging from the pearlies.  So its rescued.  Oh yea I used clear nail polish instead of glue.  Polish works great on some parts of crafting.

Southwestern support for theme. Boots with fancy design

I did these all free hand.  Have you every made items free hand for your mini album?

Embellishments

Embellishments for the southwestern new England mini album.  I used foil papers from SEI "Entrada, beni savanna". They were with a card kit. The card stock is from Recollections, plus the Green Tiles, the green mosaic is also from them.

Southwest New England mini album

First page I came up with 4 southwestern page for mini album.  Used preprinted designer paper which had circles with flower shapes so I just cut them out applied to the cactus.  So I have beautiful flowering cactus.

New England - Southwestern need ideas.

I have a friend who has lived north of Boston Boston for a little over 20 years. She grew up in New Mexico.  Now with her family their selling their home and moving back to the Old West.   So as a paper crafter I thought what better way to mark this momenteous occasion then by making a New England vs. Old West Mini Album. I needed ideas, plus getting mine out of my head, so I went and Googled search both words New England ...  and Old West... mini albums.  Nothing then tried Southwestern and beach.there was not much. Some color scheamed ones. Nothing with motifs.  Whats a crafter to do?  Make up my own.  Plus do the almost funnest part - Shop again nothing, found the right color scheamed paper. No western, southwestern paper designs.  Went back 2 days later to a different store then found a 6x6 western themed paper pad. Found dies on-line. For both ocean and western.   Gotta say what happened no love for The Old Southwest.  I'll...

Gilded Lily album pages 3 so far

Image
Mini album Gilded Lily pages I must credit Anna from Anna's paper creations and G45.   Check out her you tube videos and her blog. She does such great work.  Plus she has tutorials, explains it all so well like Martha Stewart.    See what creations you can develop.

Gilding

Image
When it comes to gilding you need: Gold ink Finger or stamps Clear embossing powder Heat tool Imagation The way I did it was stamped an image onto color coordinated paper, poured on the clear embossing powder, then of course shook off unneeded powder, returned rest to the bottle, heated with heat tool then Viola!  It was done Now off to fussy cut it out to add to my project.
